happy 4th!

The past couple of weeks have been a whirlwind-with trips to Chicago, Palm Springs, and 3 trips to LA [I have a newfound love for LA but I’ll save that for another post from the city of angels]. I say all of that to say that I quite literally couldn't be more excited for a slow holiday weekend.

My fourth of july holiday weekend did not involve planes or trains, no flight reservations nor rental cars. It’s just me, San Francisco, and the few stragglers who also didn't make it out of the city [aka paradise]. I couldn't love it anymore. I curled up on my couch with my current read Modern Romance by Aziz Ansari [having finished Master of None season 2 I’m really going through Aziz withdrawal.] I’m also halfway through The Nest. [Confession-I have a bad habit of buying book after book after book, even though I already have a mile high stack of books that I haven’t yet read. I tell myself there are far worse things to splurge on than books, right?]

Books and bad habits aside, I’m taking this time to slow down and rest up. I plan to spend the day with great friends as all of my family is back East. I hope wherever you are that you spend the day with great company.

Wishing you all a Happy Fourth! [You know I couldn’t sign off without keeping it real, but I'll keep it short and sweet so I'll just say this: even though I struggle with our current president’s leadership and the blatant injustice towards certain disenfranchised groups in this country, especially pending loads of conversations I've had as of late, I do feel grateful to be American and for the freedoms that allows me. End mini rant.]
