turning 1

Warning- I’m about to get all up in my feelings.

Today, leave a little sparkle turns 1. [Can you believe it? I surely cannot.] One year ago today I published my first post- hello world- and never would I have imagined that leave a little sparkle would come this far.

Since launching we did our first collaboration with Lea Coligado, the brains behind Women of Silicon Valley, in girlboss galore. On a trip to L.A., we teamed up with blogger Titi of The Sweet Pursuit to create l.a. magic. And just 2 weeks ago we completed our first brand sponsorship with our friends at Goodwill to create great finds @ goodwill [writing that still feels surreal.]

Most of you know that I started this blog right after graduation-when I knew I‘d have the time to craft a space that mattered to me. I remember telling my peers at Penn that I wanted to start a blog, and I said it out loud not really knowing how I would do it but hoping that I would figure it out and that my letting people know would hold me accountable. [And it sure did.]

Fast forward two months and it was time for me to move out west to start work. Truth be told, I really didn’t know how I was going to keep up with this corner of the internet that I crafted. But through mutual contacts I ran into some amazing people who helped me figure that out, and I shot my first ever San Francisco shoot- oh the places you will go. From there, I really just stumbled my way through what with no rulebook or official guidelines to follow. [Shout out to all my friends’ friends, friends’ brothers, friends’ ex-coworkers, or photogs I met on the interwebs- I appreciate every single one of you for creating with me, and I quite literally couldn’t do any of it without you.]

And perhaps most importantly, I couldn’t be more grateful for you for following along. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, for commenting, for following up, for sharing, for the emails, the calls, the messages and the countless other ways you send me love. You have no idea how much it means to me. You keep me coming back to create week after week. I feel lucky that I get to share this space with you, and I’m beyond excited to see where these conversations take us.
