a summer state of mind
Summertime in New York City is nothing short of magical.
Whether it’s the all too familiar sound of the Mr. Softee ice cream truck [chocolate cone NO sprinkles, please] or the undeniable rupture of laughter as we take our convos to our favorite outdoor bar or apartment rooftop [my personal favorite], summer is definitely in full swing.
Summer means all the Ben & Jerry’s [chocolate fudge brownie, of course], Haagen-Dazs ice cream bars, and Shake Shack concretes that I can get [as if I really needed an excuse]. And there’s just something about the summertime that makes me love color- the true inspiration behind this outfit.
But more than my favorite sugary treats or neon hues, for me, summertime in the city always brings about a certain feeling:
a let’s-get-lost-roaming-the-city feeling;
a you-can-do-every-and-anything feeling
While this will all change very soon as 1. this is my last official ‘summer vacation’ [hello, corporate america] and 2. my last one in nyc for a while [i’m coming for you, San Francisco], I plan to enjoy these sunnier days to the fullest.
Sooner or later this time will escape us, and the leaves will start to turn and fall. But, for now, even if for just this moment, I am very deeply and very happily in a summer state of mind.
