Usually, for my birthday, I feel like I’ve got loads to say. Either there’s a new apartment I'm moving into, or a new borough to call home, a new chapter at work, or, sometimes, a new city to call home. This year, I actually don’t have many words. I just have a feeling.

This year, on my birthday, I feel grounded. More grounded and more settled than I ever have before. In many ways, it feels reassuring to be becoming the person that I want to be. And, if I’m being truly honest, that’s the best birthday wish I could ask for.

I am oh so grateful that I get to make it another year around the sun. Who am I not to be?

So here’s to 30.

it feels good to be home

Anyway, I was just popping in here to check in. In so many ways it feels like time is zooming by, seasons are zooming by [but like actually], and the end of the year is quickly approaching. But all that being said, I couldn’t be more grateful that I get to return home here, in my tiny yet cozy apartment in NYC.

imperfect

Some shots aren’t exactly in focus or aren’t 100% in frame but you know what, that’s okay. One of the many lessons I’m learning from this new found slowed down pace is that things don’t always go as planned [case and point this entire situation], but what truly matters is how you react given that change. And, on top of that, I actually have a newfound appreciation for shots that I would have previously deemed too imperfect.
