l.a. magic
Last week, I found myself on a flight to LA to speak at an alumni engagement event for the Penn Class of ‘92 [it’s crazy to me that at some point I too will be celebrating my 25th reunion]. Instead of taking the quick flight back up to SF that night, I decided to indulge in the la la land that is Los Angeles and spend the weekend. And boy, I’m so glad that I did!
Even now I'm having a hard time summing up what quite literally was a fabulous weekend. Somewhere between witnessing the bonds and relationships that run so deep in the Class of ‘92 or catching up with old friends who have found new places to call home in L.A. or just perusing the stores along Melrose Avenue after sunset, I was most certainly transfixed by the LA magic. There was just something in the air- something that I haven’t quite found in San Francisco yet, but something I know too well in New York.
But, above all, what I loved the most about my time in L.A was catching up with some bad-ass women who I had the sheer honor of sharing a campus with during my collegiate days. And yes, one of them, was this fabulous lady, Titi-the creative mastermind behind The Sweet Pursuit. She is yet another woman working full time by day and blogging by night, and truth be told, she keeps me inspired to keep on...well, keeping on. Whether she’s serving all the Solange vibes in a gorgeous jumpsuit or sharing her inner most honest thoughts [and still looking oh so stylish], for me, Titi is yet another model of girlbossdom [is that even a word?]
Hop on over to her blog to see more of our melanated LA weekend together. I couldn’t have had more fun in front of the camera, and what’s better, I had another sis right by my side.
