31

31.
Another year around the sun! I kind of can't believe it. For some reason, it feels like this past year went by so quickly? Perhaps, just more quickly than I remember the previous year moving?
A quick Google search pulls up research stating that as you get older, time seemingly moves quicker as each year represents a smaller percentage of your entire life. It is kind of crazy if you think about it; your perception is changing, but time itself continues to move along as usual.
Last year, when I rang in 30, it felt like a big moment. (I mean, we did in fact usher in a new decade, which still feels crazy to even write.) So while 31 doesn’t usually receive as much pomp and circumstance when compared to 30, it actually feels quite meaningful to me
30 felt like arriving at a milestone; at a destination whose journey led me to exactly where I needed to be.
And so, at 31, I’m already here. I’ve done the work to get here. I’m standing on a solid foundation, one that I’ve been building this entire time.
31 is about living in the present, reaping the benefits of the paths I’ve forged to date, and, maybe most exciting, continuing to forge new ones.
On New Year’s Day, as I was walking through the sunny streets of Mexico City, I stumbled upon a poster that read: “Si no es hoy, cuando?”. [If not today, then when?] I deemed 2025 as the year of making dreams come true.
31 is for making dreams come true. Here’s to dreaming!
