hello world.
I've been dreaming of doing this for a long time (and I really do mean a long time), but the perfectionist in me deemed it too difficult, and I kept pushing it off. It wasn't until last summer, that I officially decided that this was what I wanted to do. Each day, after I returned home from my internship, I had loads of free time to read, work out, and watch HBO GO (aka watch the entire Sex and the City series in order). Yet, I felt like there was still something missing. Yes, even with my daily dose of the fabulous Carrie, there was still a void. And then two things happened, and I was convinced that this was how I would fill that void:
Meeting Krystal Bick of This Time Tomorrow- Lucky me Krystal was a 'Googler', and I had the pleasure of meeting her last summer first via Google Hangouts (typical) and then in person for our team's offsite in SF. It wasn't just talking about her blog and her words of encouragement but also sitting next to her during sessions and seeing her post Instagram photos (that then received thousands of likes) that I realized that she is a real person (with a bomb blog) too. [Update: Krystal has since left Google to pursue blogging full time.]
Casey Gerald's Keynote Speech at SVMP- My week at Harvard Business School through Summer Venture in Management Program was nothing short of amazing. One thing I won't forget was a line in Casey's keynote speech during our closing ceremony. He said, "One of our biggest fears is failure. The question I want to leave you with is 'What would you do if you weren't afraid?'" This is what I would do.
Forever indebted to Krystal and Casey for the inspiration and motivation.
And to all of you, thanks for taking the time to stop by my little corner of the interwebs. Feel free to comment below or reach out via the 'Contact' tab with thoughts and suggestions. I'd love to hear from you.
I don't know where this will lead me, but I sure am excited to find out.
I only hope to leave a little sparkle.
